Common questions about choosing the right hair extension length.
To find your ideal length, measure from your crown (where the halo wire would sit) down to where you'd like the extensions to fall. You can also tie a piece of string at your desired length and hold it up to see the effect. Our length comparison guide includes photos of real women wearing each length to help you visualise the result.
Taller people may find shorter lengths appear shorter on them, while petite individuals may find longer lengths overwhelming. As a general guide: 14" suits most heights for adding volume, 18" is versatile for most body types, and 22" looks best on those who are 5'5" or taller. However, personal preference matters most!
14" adds subtle length to collarbone level, perfect for first-time extension wearers. 18" reaches mid-back, adding noticeable length and volume. 22" creates dramatic length to lower back or waist, ideal for special occasions or those wanting a bold look. All lengths add significant volume.
Our halo extensions weigh only 40g regardless of length, so there's no difference in comfort between lengths. The weight is distributed across the entire wire, so even our longest 22" extensions feel light and comfortable. This is one of the advantages of the halo method over traditional clip-in extensions.
If you're unsure, we recommend going longer rather than shorter. You can always style longer extensions to appear shorter by curling or pinning up the ends, but shorter extensions can't be made longer! Check out our length comparison photos to help you decide.
Round faces: longer lengths (18"-22") help elongate. Oval faces: all lengths suit! Square faces: soft, medium lengths (14"-18") balance strong jawlines. Heart-shaped faces: 14"-18" complements wider foreheads. Long faces: moderate lengths with volume work best. See our face shape guide for detailed recommendations.

Measurement Truth: Hair extension length is measured from the crown (where the wire sits) to the ends. Your natural hair adds to the total visual length.
Layers Matter: Adding layers to your natural hair while wearing extensions creates a more natural, blended look. We recommend subtle layering.
Start Small: If unsure, start with 14" or 16". You can always layer your extensions shorter later, but you can't add length without buying longer ones!
Customizable: You can trim extensions yourself for a custom look! A professional stylist can also shape them to complement your face shape perfectly.
